90 days of floral spendor.
At our R&D location, we test hundreds of new varieties every year. Only one or two make it into our strong selection. This allows us to guarantee our quality. Our secret lies in the strong roots of our orchids. With strong roots, the branches grow full of flowers, allowing you to enjoy their beauty for up to 90 days.
Sustainability
In addition to our beautiful orchids, we also want to have a positive influence on our environment in other ways. Our main goal is to switch to a more sustainable way of growing, where we use heat that is generated in an environmentally friendly way, without the use of fossil fuels. In recent years we have taken important steps to achieve this goal.
Heating
Our heating is 50% sourced from geothermal energy.
Lighting
By 2025, our lighting will be 100% LED. We are working towards this in phases.
Cooling
The power required for cooling our greenhouses is 100% generated by our own solar panels.
Vital plant
The space and rest that our plants get in the greenhouse ensure strong roots. This causes our orchids to bloom again and again.
Packaging
We aim for a maximum use of recycled material in our packaging.
Our history
The roots of Opti-flor go back about 95 years, when the Hendriks family started growing various vegetables in greenhouse horticulture. Vanaf begin jaren 70 teelde de familie vooral tomaten. When the third generation joined the company, the transition was made to Phalaenopsis. The accompanying dream was to grow the most beautiful and highest quality orchids.
